The day-before match reminder works with no account at all. Live alerts (kickoff, goals, lineups) and the Live Activity on your Lock Screen are sent from a server, and the server needs to know which phone to reach, which is why they use Sign in with Apple. Nothing turns on by itself; you choose exactly what you want.
The live score card on your Lock Screen and Dynamic Island needs iOS 18 or newer. On iOS 17 you still get every other alert in full.
Open your Profile, then Notifications. Pick the teams that buzz your phone on match day and the alert types you want. You can also tap the bell on any team's page.
Profile, then Delete account. It removes your account and everything tied to it, including your Sign in with Apple link. Your followed teams stay on your phone if you keep the app.
